Notes:
- When the first road was opened between St-Gilles and Saint-Nicolas in 1791, we learn that Christophe Bayer took roots in the german community in St-Gilles
- On 3 of the marriage acts of his children, Christophe Payer is listed as being <Capitaine de Milice> This covers 1811-1814-1817;
- On October 2nd, 1814 (notary Louis Guay), we find Christophe Payeur first will. He is again said <Capitaine de Milice>, company of St-Gilles. Marie Magdeleine Gendreau is named sole legatee; the withnesses Ambroise Debloys and Ambroise Pillot;
- In 1823, the residents of St-Gilles presented a request to the bishop to have their own church. Christophe Bayer was one of the family heads to attend. The request was denied due to a too small amount of residents;
- In 1827, a second request was made to build a church (100 x 45) for 500 persons. The syndics were named: Charles Gouin, Augustin Demers, Christophe Bayer, Jean Baptiste Derouin. This attempt was positive: the parish (St-Gilles-de-Beaurivage) was erected 17-02-1828.
- A second will is drafted 08-01-1824. In this will his daughter Marguerite is named sole legatee. Christophe requests to be burried in the protestant cemetry in Québec.
- In the 1831 census (St-Gilles, comté de Lotbinière), Christophe (Paër) is listed as owner and farmer;
-On October 1838, Louis Payëre and Germain Montminy withnessed the benediction of Marie Madeleine Gendreau's grave. She had died the previous week, aged 80.
On an official document dated 28-02-1839, we know that Christophe Bayer is dead, because a proxy was given to Louis Payeur by his brothers and sisters to look after the succession of Christophe Payeur and Marie Magdeleine Gendreau.
